SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos (2003): The End of old SNK | Capcom Quest #314

At least the roster is interesting. Capcom Quest of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos! SNK's decay started here.


Maybe if this was the first Capcom/SNK crossover it wouldn't be that much criticized.




SNK chose to make 3 games of this series exclusive for their handheld, and when it finally went to the arcades it had the difficult mission of being better than CvS 2. That was complicated...





I'm not even sure how to explain it, but the gameplay is stuck and it's not as easy to make combos as in KoF, not to mention the stages are pretty dead with boring music.





Something I have to praise here is the roster, SNK chose the characters well for this crossover, I like the sprites they made for most of Capcom's fighters.





There are two routes in arcade mode. As I understand it, you will face Capcom bosses if you defeat opponents without chip damage, if one is defeated like that, you will face SNK bosses.





Kind of weird requirement, right? Anyway, the secret bosses Athena and Firebrand are really secret. I did/read everything, and I could only face Athena





But honestly, nothing beats the broken of Serious Mr Karate. Three Hao Sho koken in a row is crazy. Anyway, a game that could be much better for such an epic crossover =(
