Suzu Monogatari (2000): In search of Heavenly Bells | Capcom Quest #250

How I miss RPGs in English... Capcom Quest of Suzu Monogatari. Solving heavenly problems with Training Card Game.

I really thought Capcom only had Breath of Fire as RPG, ahhaahhahahaha, what an innocent child I was...

This is another RPG that I needed help to beat, after all a game 100% in Japanese is not for me.

Here you need to retrieve 5 of the 7 sacred bells that the protagonist dropped on Earth. I just didn't understand why these bells are so important to the gods.

The game even has few maps, but the backtracking between them always happens, this is because to advance in the game you will have to talk to a lot of npcs.

The battle system is a TCG, nothing too complex. There are Water, Fire and Grass cards (Water wins Fire that wins Grass that wins Water) and they have attack points. If you and your opponent send cards of the same element, the one with the most attack wins.

It even has effect cards, the most used are those that multiply your attack points. The CPU uses these a lot trying to trick you.

You can pet a dog and a cat. The dog will find items for you to dig in the middle of the map and the cat will pick up items on the houses roofs.

I wish I could talk more about the game's history, but life has these, right? A nice RPG =)
