Dino Crisis (1999): The Ibis Island Mystery | Capcom Quest #216

I thought Resident Evil had a lot of puzzles. Capcom Quest of Dino Crisis. A lot dinosaurs, passwords and item combinations on one island.

I have to admit that if wasn't by a walkthrough I would be playing the game yet xD

Dino Crisis tells the story of the third energy accident, which was intended to be used for scientific purposes. Unfortunately something went wrong and with that several temporal vortexes were created, bringing dinosaurs into the modern era.

So the "S.O.R.T" (Secret Operation Raid Team) were sent to Ibis Island to understand all this mess, and that's where the game begins.

The gameplay follows the same style as its older brother, but we have a much more dynamic camera, something that was implemented in Code Veronica in the future.

There's also have an expansion of "MIX". Here it's not herbs that have been mixed, but several items that end up creating new ones. Certainly the most effective are tranquilizer darts.

I've never seen so many codes and passwords to advance the game. At first I even managed to decipher several of them, but then only with the help of walkthroughs. Probably the answers are hidden in the files...

Of course the main thing is the dinosaurs! There are not many types, I believe there are 5 (with the T-Rex). Unlike zombies, these run, break down doors, disarm you and is hard to die.

I don't think it's worth killing them, better try to dodge or create tranquilizer darts. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of ammo on just one enemy.

The game offers 4 "Resident Evil" style endings (the more survivors, better the end). And there are also path options, which don't change much in the story, but it's extra, right?

A nice fun fact is that Capcom never revealed the real names of the members of "S.O.R.T", that's right, Regina is just the code name of the redhead.
