Why is this saga so underrated? Capcom Quest of Mega Man Legends! Master Keiji Inafune's favorite series (and many other fans).
I never wished to play this saga, to tell the truth, it was because I met Mega Man X7. I had a HUGE disinterest in these Mega Man 3D games.
But I'm happy to see that things were very different here! Mega Man Legends has a very simple goal, to go after refractors to keep planet Terra alive!
It has never been confirmed by Capcom, but fans believe that Legends takes place many years after the events of ZX Advent! Where the Earth suffered a flood, thus forming several islands along it.
So Diggers are the heroes (like Volnutt) who explore the dungeons, looking for the refractors! Therefore, a license is required to perform this function.
But one of the biggest mysteries is about the Mother Lode, a crystal energy so powerful that it would be able to keep the Earth self-sustaining again. Thing that doesn't happen in this episode xD
Unlike Mega Man, Volnutt does not absorb boss powers. Here our hero receives improvements by collecting pieces of equipment scattered around the map. And who creates and improves this equipment is the best Roll ever made! Seriously, this version represents very well a Bad Ass character!
So many times I didn't know what to do, but the little monkey Data told me where I should go. And it helped a lot \o/
And what about the Bonne family? They follow that Team Rocket style, they became so popular that Tron got a spin-off game on following year!
The game map is not that big, but there could be a mini map showing the way you should go to the next quest.
Maybe I didn't upgrade Volnutt well, but the suffering I got from the bosses was crazy! Mainly because the game's Lock On is terrible!!!!!
And that's it, the end of the game leaves the story very open, which I hope they explain in the next episode, because unfortunately the third one was canceled...
I played this version soo much!
