Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams (1995): A New Era! | Capcom Quest #151

I never understood why this saga is called Zero in Japan. Capcom Quest of Street Fighter Alpha: The Warriors' Dreams! The World Warriors in anime version.

Here's a game that I always knew about it but had never played it. The reason is that I played Alpha 2 first...

I didn't even know that the character select theme is the same as Alpha 2, which I think is wonderful!!!! A Lot of nostalgia involved xD

The new is the special bar, which is now 3 levels and you can choose the intensity of the super by pressing one or more attack buttons after the critical art command.

There's also the alpha/zero counter, where you spend a special bar to get out of your opponent's pressure. You must defend an attack and execute the command back, low diagonal, low kick or punch.

In this episode each character has their final boss, although most is Bison, we have very interesting encounters!!

The game itself is VERY unbalanced, some characters like Ken (still spammer), Nash, Guy are very easy to perform combos like Jab, Jab, Short, C.Forward, C.Roundhouse.

Others like Sodom and Birdie I just managed to do the classic jump H.kick and sweep combo, to be honest I really bad with grapples >. <

Something I found interesting was what they did to Ryu's shakunetsu hadoken. The big difference is that the fire hadouken knockdowns when hit close, so Capcom placed the first frames of the strong hadouken, with shakunetsu properties.

You can fight Dan if you keep repeating the same winning phrase over and over, but the CPU doesn't even move well.

He is one of the secret characters, curious that his face is slightly different from the final version. And as you already know, he's a Capcom joking for SNK.

Akuma is also a secret, and is much better than his first appearance. If before in Super Turbo he had no specials, here he has 4! The demon do combos with EVERYTHING!

Better than that is the CPU version! If you want to fight him, you'll have to defeat a version that has more HP, strength and speed! It's once again the biggest challenge of the game.

It also had the premiere of Dramatic Battle mode, which shows the movie's fight, where Ryu and Ken fight against Bison.

The Alpha saga had a big involvement from Hideaki Itsuno, creator of Dragon's Dogma and current director of Devil May Cry (my favorite series). He had already worked in others games like "Quiz and Dragons" but I believe this was his first great job at Capcom \o/

I love this OST
