Not much has changed. Capcom Quest of Monster Hunter Stories 2! Rathalos is now a different one.
I bet this sequel was developed alongside the first game.
Stories 2 made things even easier, now you'll always have partners helping you in battles.
As much as Rathalos is my favorite monster, it could have been replaced by another one. They gave even more importance to the King of the Skies.
Now you can have up to three weapons equipped and change them during battle, and there are monsters that take more damage with a certain type of weapon.
Another feature was the temporary effects. It's not just an XP increase, you can use them for many things. My favorite was increasing defense.
I used Nargacuja's ability a lot on the maps, becoming invisible and going unnoticed was really cool. But if you get into battle, you can always run away with 100% accuracy.
One thing I didn't like was the flight mechanics, you have more freedom compared to the first game, but it depends on controlling the camera as well, I found it a bit messy.
The story didn't really catch my attention. I thought it was cool that characters from the first game appeared, but otherwise it's like thinking that Rathalos is a threat when in fact the enemy is someone else.
If you liked the first game, you'll definitely enjoy this one. I'm really happy to see Capcom creating RPGs again.
