Is there any Mega Man with a harder rank system than this one? Capcom Quest of Mega Man Zero! It took a while but Inafune did it.
It was almost 10 years, but yes! Inafune managed to put Zero as the protagonist of a Mega Man series!
I always thought that the conception of this series would be a Metroidvania, you can even walk through the stages and explore each point behind CyberElfs, but it's not necessary to beat.
What is mandatory are the main missions, and there is a way for you to skip several of them and go straight to Neo Arcadia.
Well, 100 years have passed since the X saga and that Elf War, then Zero got tired of his old armor and was awakened by Ciel. That's what we know about this transition of sagas.
One thing I hated was the heart and sub tanks. If you want to increase your HP you will have to first find the correct CyberElfs and then farm A LOT of crystals.
Not to mention the requirement of this rank. If you do anything wrong, or use CyberElf your rank will drop. At least it only serves to buff/nerf the bosses.
What has to be praised is the plot of this saga! Seeing an apocalypse created from an idea of utopia is sinister. And the 4 guardians were really nice too, great characters!
The only part I really suffered was in the end because I didn't have many lives, otherwise the game is very quiet.
