Granbo (2001): Pokémon Capcom Edition | Capcom Quest #287

If wasn't so difficult to evolve these little monsters, I would try to complete the "Pokedex". Capcom Quest of Granbo! That time Capcom made a "Pokemon like".

It took a long time for that to happen. Pokémon has always been a portable success, and it was at end of 2001 that Capcom tried to grab market share...

Unfortunately I didn't find anything to talk about the game's plot. It is one of several RPGs completely in Japanese that has never been released in the West. But I believe the main plot is to save the world. lol

It's impossible to play and not remember Pokémon, from the beginning Capcom makes this very clear, even the classic initial choice of 3 little monsters has here.

Speaking of which, the Granbos are based on 4 colors, Red, Blue, Green and Purple. As expected, each one represents a type of element, I just didn't understand which element is purple (it's not poison).

The capture system is quite hard! You have to increase the bar that is below the enemy's HP, using specific skills and attacks. Also you will have to spend more mana to use the capture. The problem is that if the enemy's HP is too low, you can killing it during capture.

There is the possibility of having 6 Granbos in the party, but if you lose one during the fight you automatically lose a slot on the battlefield.

The only thing that really bothered me was how to evolve the Granbos. You need them to merge with others, but besides having to know the combinations, most of the times you only find a certain Granbo in one place.

There are no gym here, but "Elite 4" are the game's villains. As I understand the first 3 reminds Team Rocket, the last one is more serious.

And that's it, I had to grind a lot to beat this one, after all I couldn't evolve/capture strong Granbos.

So that's what happened to Dylan and Paula
