Was this one an Ace Attorney prologue? Capcom Quest of Fushigi Deka. Strange characters in search of a serial killer!
I don't understood much of the story, but the detective feeling here reminded me a lot of the Ace Attorney's mechanics.
The game is an adventure point 'n click, where you have to collect and deliver items to get ahead in the story.
Whenever this dialog box appears it means that the npc wants you to deliver a certain item to it. The question is to know where to find and which item it wants xD
You can follow the old formula of interacting with everyone and see what happens, but luckily I found a site in japanese with walkthrough of the game.
The only thing I understood about the story is that you are a detective who is after a murderer, in addition to having the ability to talk to the dead.
At least I had a good time with the game's character design, hahahaahahahah,
