Breath of Fire III (1997): About God and Dragons | Capcom Quest #198

Is there anyone more powerful than the legendary Peco? Capcom Quest of Breath of Fire III. A journey in search of the truth!

Damn, it was really necessary to go this long? From BoF to this episode, it must have been about 800 years.

Anyway, the first thing we see in BoF III is how it's connected to the first episode of the series. At the opening we have this beautiful picture!

And the second thing, is how wonderful the graphics are! We already know that in the next episodes, the series drastically changes its artistic style. So this one, is the culmination of that style.

The story of the game is divided into two parts, the first being based on Ryu's survival (which was awakened after long years) and the other is about answers from a bloody past.

And to be quite honest, this BoF is the most focused on Ryu possible! The motivation of most secondary characters depends on the protagonist.

As much as Nina tries to demonstrate the weight of being from the royal family, she is MUCH more concerned with Ryu than the fate of the world.

If Ryu didn't exist, surely Garr would have become a statue or remain in the coliseum.

Rei even has his revenge motivation, but after a while, he follows one of Ryu's motivations, which is to know how to control his power. Just like that classic rivalry between the Tiger and the Dragon!

Only Momo and Peco have different goals and motivations. Peco is a spoiler, but Momo seeks to know more about her father (who likes hentais) and the Era of Technology.

There are now 3 characters used in battle, all of them have the skill to examine, which is capable of copying various techniques just by watching your opponent's attack. The more intelligence the character is, the faster it copies.

Another novelty, and certainly the most popular, are the various transformations and fusions that Ryu has throughout history!

Among them I will highlight the "Myrmidion". Ryu becomes half human and half dragon and his attack power increases too much (especially if using the aura).

One point that I like too much is the map. Capcom has simplified access to areas and now we don't even have enemy encounters, only when we enter locations.

On the map there's the option of camping, and it's always very good to use this option to talk to the party. They often tell us which way to go in the game.

The exploration is so natural (and so is the grind) that I discovered the location of all the Masters without much difficulty. That by the way, these are NPCs that change the status of the characters and even teach different skills.

Anyone who has played knows about the Desert of Death meme, but what took me seriously was the waterhole mini-game. My God what a boring thing!!

I fell in love with the gameplay and the innovations that the game brought, but the story and the lack of side quests, did not captivate me as much as its predecessor. It's certainly a mandatory title for those who enjoy rpgs!

Finally I understand ALL the Easter Eggs
