This episode completely replaces the New Generation in relation to the canon. We have new characters, new scenarios but the same story.
4 characters were added, and even though Hugo is the poster boy, the most popular new fighter is of course Akuma!
The new stages were beautiful, but some old ones are no longer present, which is a shame because they are all very well done.
The big news in the gameplay are the EX moves. Yeah, it took a while but it arrived. A feature that was implemented in Darkstalkers and Street Fighter: The Movie.
Capcom also added a bonus for train your parrys. The better you are in the first few fights, the higher the difficulty level of this bonus will be!
I do not believe there was a great balance in this version, only Gill was a little easier, after all he can spend the bar with a special instead of using his Resurrection.
I found the condition to play Shin Akuma absurd. You have to make 3 perfects in arcade mode and not lose any round, so you will face Akuma. Now it's "just" beat him either with 2 perfects or with 2 special finish.
Not enough, you will face 100% O.P Shin Akuma. Beat him and you can select him by holding Start on the Akuma icon. Pretty easy, right?
