Star Gladiator: The Final Crusade (1996): The Fourth Empire Strikes Back | Capcom Quest #174

6 minutes to defeat all opponents, it seems fair! Capcom Quest of Star Gladiator Episode 1: The Final Crusade. The Capcom's first Low Poly fighting game.

This is one of the games that I thought would not have much to say... Just thought xD

Let's start by saying that, according to Seth Killian, this game would be a Star Wars. And it is quite obvious when we know the characters and the lore (not to mention the name of the game).

The story revolves around Bilstein's discovery, the sixth sense. With that, you can use your mind power and transform it into energy. The warriors in the game use this energy in their weapons.

The problem is that Bilstein, after making a lot of money from this discovery, started to do abusive experiments on humans. What caused his expulsion from Earth.

Now, Bilstein has returned with some allies to take revenge on the Earth and it's up to you to protect the planet. The group's name is called The Fourth Empire, which reminded me even more Star Wars.

I found the features of the game very complex, with a sequence tree, counters, special, ground punishments, dodges, cancellations and a lot of hidden commands.

Using Hayato as an example, he can increase his sword's range by doing 3x down, and if at that moment you execute Shun Goku Satsu's command, he will gain access to new attacks.

There are also Plasma Combos which are the sequences that end with a special attack. The game doesn't teach these, you have to find out about each character.

Despite all this complexity, the game requires you to defeat all 10 opponents in less than 6 minutes, if you want to have a chance to see your character's true ending.

I said chance to see, because you will face the true form of Bilstein and he's soo overpowered, with a lot of teleports and counters. If you lose the fight, will not have another chance.

With this premise of rushing it's difficult to take advantage from all the game's complexity, so I had to use a state in the "last" boss before 6 minutes to enjoy it well.

About the characters, I found one more creative than the other. But the highlight is for sure for Saturn! Until moonwalk the guy does, too much SsStylish!

Who would Gamof be if the game was a Star Wars? xD

Is a really fun game, it's just a shame the endings are very simple, other things is nice \ o /

I'm still traumatized...
