Resident Evil (1996): "Wow! What a Mansion" | Capcom Quest #166

It's too sad they had to change the name in the West, because it doesn't represent the whole franchise. Capcom Quest of Resident Evil. The Capcom game I played the most in my childhood!

This is one of the most important games of my life! Thanks to Resident Evil I started to learn english (I'm a Brazilian guy), and it was the first game that I spent years to beat!

It's that old story, the 90's we didn't have internet access, our only source was the magazines, and I didn't have one from Resident >.<

Ps: Wesker best villain!

I always had with an English dictionary in hand to understand the texts (unfortunately the speech has no subtitles). I got stuck in several parts, one of them was the picture room. But sadly, I could only clear with a walkthrough years later = (

I'll never forget when I finally got back to the mansion and the first Hunter showed up. That was the only time in my life that I turned off the video game because I was really scared o.O

I think this live action wonderful, even nowadays. The acting is not a big deal, a lot memes (dinosaur dogs), but I still think it's nice!

The game offers two stories, which unfortunately do not communicate with each other. Chris has less inventory space, fewer weapons, more enemies and little help from Rebecca, and Jill, who is the opposite, with Barry's help. She's also the "master of unlocking".

Jill has always been my favorite character in the entire franchise! The evolution she has over the years is much more interesting than the others. In addition we have to agree, the actress is beautiful.

Each character has three endings, and it depends on who will be able to save. Didn't remember that making the worst end resulted in not fighting Tyrant, not funny huh?

The affection I have for this game is immeasurable. Devil May Cry, my favorite series exists because of Resident Evil, Capcom, obviously my favorite company, has reached a much higher level, after all this is the most lucrative franchise in the company's history.

Unfortunately the name Biohazard was not accepted at Capcom USA because it had released a game of the same name for DOS in addition to the classic metal band. Resident Evil represents the first episode very well, but the following others doesn't make much sense...

Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara were the key of the project, which even was supposed to be a Sweet Home remake. Lucky it wasn't, so Capcom never needed a license to make new games \ o /

And to finished, it's a great pleasure that I will talk about my favorite developer. This was the first game that Hideki Kamiya, founder of Platinum Games, had involvement. If today I'm in love with Hack 'n Slash, it sure was his fault xD.
