Golden Armor + Beam Saber = TOTAL Annihilation! Capcom Quest of Man Man X3. The latest game in the series released for the Super Nintendo.
Being more than 20 years without playing a game yields some weird things, huh!? My God, how I suffered here...
Mega Man X3 was the first Capcom game ported on Cross Gen. The CD version received some animations/songs, giving that desire to watch an anime of the series.
I didn't remember how horrible Zero is here. His sprites are bigger than X, being easier to hit, I had the feeling of his dash being slower, and worst of all, you can only play with him until the "transition gates". (And only die once, also)
This gets even more annoying, realizing that each stage has 3 of these transitions! One for sub-boss, other for Bit/Byte and one more for the boss. Capcom could let him face the sub bosses, at least.
The story is very similar to X2. Again we have a prototype of Dr. Wily, which was used as a puppet by Sigma, plus two other minions...
I decided to make the bosses weaknesses' route, starting with Blizzard (which his weapon is good for HP farming), and my friends, how much backtracking I had to do to get all the items. This is really not the speedrunners route...
The Ride Armor is back, now in 4 models spread out in the stages, but I ended up using very little, because I left the stage where it gives access to them for last. (It didn't make to much difference in my run, by the way).
I have to say that the Mavericks difficulty here was well eased. Although it died in some (as always).
For Capcom this guy is a "Mysterious"... Yeah, just for Capcom. But his stage music is F#*kin awesome!!!!!
Nowadays everyone knows, but seriously, back then you discovering the Golden Armor + Beam Saber was soo awesome! Mainly because the conditions are not that obvious.
As in X2, we have that different boss scheme in the last stage, if you destroy or defeat/don't fight with Bit/Byte.
I don't remember how many times I died on this blessed Sigma climb. Whenever I directed the dash up I canceled it by setting it aside. This was hard >.<
The end of the CD version has a wonderful song as well as the opening. And this was the last 16 bit game from X series.
