Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness (1995): Searching for the Strongest Mecha | Capcom Quest #148

I don't know when giant mechas will be create, but I hope they will be like these ones! Capcom Quest of Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness. The spin-off that turned into a fighting game!

Once again I write a review with that feeling of loss. The characters are very charismatic and knowing there's no sequel of this story, is very sad...

The game's events take place in the late 21st century (something close to the 209X), making it clear that it's a prequel to Armored Warriros (228X). But the stories do not communicate each other, probably because of this, Capcom considers it as a spin-off.

The main plot is that the Earth is overpopulated, thanks to that several groups of people have moved to space colonies. Some have accepted this well, others not, so the future of Earth will depend on the character you choose.

Each Mecha acts as a fighting game character. We have the grapplers, shotokans, zoners, the fast and slow ones... I just don't figure out why they are separated by categories.

The new mechanics over previous fighting games is that here we can fill the special bar by holding both attack buttons, and if you are attacked at this point, you will lose some part of your Mecha.

In total there are 17 playable Mechas (12 selectable, 4 secret and 1 console exclusive) and the characters have no relationship with the robots, so you can choose any of the 6 humans and make them use any Mecha.

Only the 3 unique console characters: Devillote, Shade and Chiyomarue need to play with their your own mecha. Still on the homemade versions, we have an excellent voice acting.

And of course, Capcom has managed to get the master of Satsui no Hado here. In the story he is controlled by Devillote's father, Emperor Death Satan (very innocent name). To play with him you have to clear without spending any continue. Only on console versions.

In my opinion the top 5 best Mechas are: Warlock for having a huge fireball, Zero Gouki for the sick moveset, Helion for being able to put pressure on his opponent, Gaits for being too fast and Killer Bee (the only one that's not secret) for being very versatile in their attacks and having an excellent special!

The game is not as hard as the previous ones, of course the difficulty increases, but I feel that when losing a coin the machine lower the difficulty. Another "trick" is that grabs are very easy to perform (even to get in meaty).

Maybe this is the saddest episode of CapQuest
