X-Men: Children of the Atom (1994): The Precursor of the Versus Series | Capcom Quest #144

Is complicated to perform combos on a CPU that defends all the time! Capcom Quest of X Men: Children of the Atom. The beginning of a new era of fighting games.

It's a little frustrated playing fighting games of this era against the CPU. Usually a casual player like me can only progress by "cheating" enemies in some way.

Anyway the game brought some new features such as directable spells, super jump and specials performed the same way (Hadouken + 2 punch buttons). In addition to wonderful sprites even today!

Eleven of the thirteen characters are selectable, being Akuma playable through code. And this time the demon is strong!

Most of the time I couldn't beat the opponents because they had an absurd defense!! I had to win using fireballs and waiting the time over.

The obvious highlight is Magneto. Unbelievable how they made this character, he has attacks that doesn't matter if you block or not, you'll take a lot damage.

Juggernaut is easy most of the time, if you alternating aerial and ground fireballs, he will be in defensive mode. But if your character has no spells, it gets harder.

There are some memes that you can't understand, why does Iceman reflect Psylock's spells, and not hurt her?

But my favorite was Silver Samurai, the warrior has normal attacks with very good range. Even his anti air is wonderful!!!! Not to mention it has projectiles and a full screen special.

Akuma is much easier to unlock compared to Super Turbo. And he came in his "Shin" form with two aerial hadoukens, one very good counter and two specials. Only Shun Goku Satsu is missing.

Wolverine let me down. His Berserk Barrage is his bar special, which left the character not that good like X - Men vs SF.

As expected, excellent and beautiful game, but is better playing in versus mode...
