Mega Man V (1994): The Stardroids Threat | Capcom Quest #133

My definitions of best Mega Man games have been updated! Capcom Quest of Mega Man V or Rockman World V, Gameboy's latest Blue Bomber adventure.

Games like this that I am proud of Capcom! Even from a limited video game, the effort is huge!

Finally this version is not a "compiled" of nes games. Now it has its own bosses and stages, including a well-crafted story.

The villains are the Stardroids, each one representing a solar system planet. These alien robots are so strong that Mega Man needed to replace his charged buster with a "rocket arm" that most of the time its much better than the bosses' weaknesses.

The game follows the same buying system as its predecessor, with some upgrade features of its "rocket arm" and there are also 4 hidden items in the stages that together reduce the cost of weapons.

This time I didn't feel that the stages repeated many screens, as happened in the previous game. They are huge in the first 4 and then shrink in the following.

There is a nice shoot 'n up mini game too!

The last stage is so great, you have to go through it facing all the Mega Man Killers and finish with a Boss Rush and of course Dr. Wily.

And the final boss is Sunstar who is a overpowered ancestor of the Stardroids. My memory may be failing, but I think this is the only game in the series that Wily is not the last boss.

This was one of the best Mega Man I ever played, a great goodbye to the Nintendo handheld.

How many company release its Tetris version?
