Saturday Night Slam Masters (1993): It's Time to Face the RING | Capcom Quest #115

Do you think Metro City only has fight on street? Capcom Quest of Saturday Night Slam Masters, before being the mayor, you have to prove yourself on the RING!

This game has an update called Muscle Bomber Duo, but something that is unique in this version is the single match mode, so let's focus on it in this review!

The characters gameplay are a mix from Final Fight (an attack button another for jump and can walk in 8 directions) with Street Fighter (commands for special attacks). Just only two fighters have an identical move list.

It's obvious, that the focus here are grabs, this is a wrestling after all! But each character has a special attack that does not need to be nearby.

As for example Biff and Gunloc (that has the same attacks) if you keep pressing the attack button several times they execute the rapid fist! Other characters the commands are like hadouken, flash kick and kikoken also jump + attack together.

The grab commands are one more specific than the other. The Titan, for example, to execute the grab with the enemy on the back has to be up + A and front is down + A. Now to execute the Super Slam (grab that takes more damage) is diagonal lower left, down, up and A!

You are able to get out the ring for 20 seconds, and the cool thing is that, there's is always something that the audience throws for you to hit your opponent.

And with more damage the enemy takes, the longer he stays on the ground, giving you the chance to execute the pin and win the match! But the CPU will only give up after it has no more hp.

Titan and Oni are my favorite. Both have excellent normal attacks for whiff punish, also Titan is able to grab the enemies more easily and Oni has a very nice flying kick.

The hardest ones were the two bosses (who only are playable in 2x2 mode) and also Haggar that I lost many coins against him.

I thought the game takes place long time before Final Fight, but I realized that is not that much. Haggar already had Jessica, and honestly she appears to be the same age as in the beat em up!

The game forces you to do 2 runs to see the true ending (which is the same for everyone). A good strategy to sell more coins, hahahahah

We'll always stick together!!!
