I always thought the dinosaurs were the villains on this game, hahahahahaha. Capcom Quest of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, that's it, the game which everyone wants a sequel but unfortunately the IP does not belong to Capcom.
There are things in life that really have no meaning. Cadillacs is one of the simplest beat-ups that Capcom has ever done in terms of features. After all, at this time we already had 4 players games, with mounts, upgrades, spells, etc... In addition to the fact that its comic book was not popular here. Even though, NOTHING of that mattered, the popularity of this game was so great that until today we still want a sequel.
The Comic's story takes place in a post - apocalyptic future, more specifically in 2513 (but the scenarios are from 90's xD). The humanity had to take refuge in underground cities for centuries, thanks to pollution and natural disasters. And when they finally came back to the surface, the dinosaurs era had returned on Earth!
As I said, I really thought the dinosaurs were the villains, after all see one of them face to face would be very scary. But unlike the stories told, they were docile and lived in peace with humans, until the Black Marketers gang showed up and used the dinosaurs as a weapon to conquer the world!
Something I just noticed now in this review, is that the characters have distinct features, and actually this is well exposed in the character selection screen xD. It's nothing new, but I didn't know that the weapons were more efficient with Hannah than the others...
The game was released in the same year of Jurassic Park and this with the fact that it's an excellent game (with a great soundtrack) certainly increased even more its popularity! It's a kind of sad that because General Motors rights (owner of the Cadillac brand) the game was not ported to the home platforms, it would surely sell a lot.
Comparing with the previous beat em ups, Cadillacs is not that difficult and still has a good duration (one hour on average). Of course, you will die pretty hard on the bosses, who are more creative than others, but Capcom could have made a 4 players version, that's the only bad thing I can talk about of this classic!
And just to finish, we have this wonderful ending huh!? Hahahahaha is the purest crispy of emotion xD
That's right, Mega Man Board version!!!!
