Knights of the Round (1991): The Story of Camelot on 16-bits | Capcom Quest #091

The Perceval was dominated by Satsui-no-Hado in this photo? Capcom Quest of Knights of the Round, this is definitely the WORST way to know King Arthur's story! But the game is nice.

There is one game that almost every gamer from 80s/90s played! And if you ask them about it, they usually say that has a flawless gameplay with an incredible story. Well this is the effect that nostalgia has between us, because this game is far from being all that.

Let's start with the story, that actually there is nothing to do with the original. You'll play with three of the most famous members from the Round Table, and go after, by Merlin's request, a sacred chalice that was stolen by King Garibaldi. In fact, on this journey you'll even face Muramasa, a warrior from Japanese legends!

I think it's nice this Capcom's Japanese characterization, was something even more creative! But unfortunately the gameplay makes some mistakes, especially with Arthur.

The characters status is from that same formula, Lancelot is the most agile but he's the weakest, Arthur is the balanced and Perceval the strongest and slowest. But unfortunately Arthur's attacks are very short, making him the worst of all.

Another funny thing is that the game has level up, but only change their skin. Seriously, it does not increase any of attributes, nor a new special or something. Just get new armors, which I have to admit are pretty Bad-Ass!

The defense here is not so easy to execute, as in the arcade version we only have two buttons, to defend you need to perform a parry and push the attack button. Do this in a beat 'em up is hard! But this was fixed in SNES version

This post was mostly criticizing the game, and NOTHING of that really matters. It's unbelievable how fun it is, I do not even know how many times I've beat it. And I'm not saying that because I'm a fan of Capcom, this game only has compliments on the internet!!

About the Perceval Satsui-no-Hado's joke, is because Capcom usually darkens the skin of their characters when are possessed xD

He was supposed to be the company's mascot, but Mega Man didn't let.
