If the title was Dungeons & Dragons you would believe don't ya!? Capcom Quest of The King of Dragons, that AWESOME mix from Beat 'em Up and Rpg!
At that time Capcom had no interest in buying D&D's rights to make a game (which we know will happen in the future), so they did a well-thought-out plan and made this dope game! The Dragon Gildiss woke up and was burning everything, reason enough to kill this beast.
The 5 oldest classes from D&D are here, despite of Warrior was translated by Fighter, obviously each one has unique skills! The Elf being the most agile, but the least resistant, and the Cleric the opposite of him!
They receive upgrades killing enemies and also opening chests that contain improvements to their weapons/shields. I think the Wizard is the best of them, he improves the range and also is the only one that always changes the type of attacks in every upgrade!
There are also spheres in some chests that when you hit, its performs a special fire or thunder. The same happens if you press the two action buttons, but you'll lose some hp
There are 16 stages but a good part of them are short, which results you beating the game in just an hour. It's even a good size to tell the truth. The only criticism I make is the same special for everyone.
The bosses are the strongest point of this game, each one very well represented in the RPGs universe, there are some hard ones like this with flying scythe, that multiplies itself and keeps spinning all the time. And others easier to hit, like the giants...
And off course, the Red Dragon is actually the Smaug. Well, Tolkien is the father of the rpgs and especially D&D, nothing wrong here. He's a great boss, hard to lose life, is one of those that you will spend a lot coins and make the arcade's owner rich!
It's nice to know that Capcom made two official Dungeons & Dragons games later, so this one works like a prologue to them. Surely this one made the happiness to owners of Super Nintendo, the port is excellent and was very popular!
