Guys, I'm really impressed by this game! Capcom Quest of Mega Man: Dr Willy's Revenge, a great debut of Blue Bomber for Nintendo's handheld!
Maybe it's because I was not expecting too much from a Game Boy version, but this game shows how Capcom struggled, even on limited hardware! The opening song (which I had never heard of) is already worth the game.
The game's idea is to resume the events for the first 3 episodes with a new story. Facing 4 of the most popular Robot Masters. The level design from the stages are very well adapted, it does remember the nes versions, but it wasn't a cntrl + c, cntrl + v.
It also brought new enemies, some of them very creative! But of course, there are classics too. (In fact this game is from 1991, then everything is already classic here xD). Like this annoying Joe the Sniper, my God it's amazing how I always take a damage from him.
A bad thing is that the classics transitions of death are also here. I think this became a meme from series, right!? If Capcom takes this out, definitely will be people complaining about it, ahahaha.
But the icing on the cake it sure happens at Willy Castle! To make up from lack of others 4 traditional stages in Mega Man, Capcom decided to put "new" Robot Masters in Buss Rush! Which are also from the first 3 episodes!
And when we defeat all of them, you still have to face Enker, who is one of 3 Mega Man Killers. To defeat him you have to shoot several times at his sword and deflect his sonic boom. Nothing that much complicated but very creative!
I may be wrong, but this was the first time you had to get through a whole stage to face Willy! As I remember, Willy always comes in a separate stage. And this fact raised the difficulty of this game too much.
Theoretically Willy is not so difficult, but the fact that you don't have any E tank, and need to face him after a hard stage, took me a long time to beat it. The first form is just get the timing of the enemies, but the second, sometimes the shield reflects the shot and others do not...
In the end Willy begs for forgiveness saying that he will never do it again (meh) and we are contemplated with Rock's journey in space going back home! Another game that I highly recommend playing, especially if you are fan of Blue Bomber!
