This is a Japanese animation that looks like American O.o. Capcom Quest of Little Nemo: The Dream Master! The boy who has power of dreams, or something like that...
I also thought that Nemo was just a Disney fish name, but this boy knows somes crazy spells! The meaning of game is to control certain animals, so with this you can explore each part of the stages and find the keys, which is necessary to go to the next level
The way to control these animals is to throw some chocolates into their mouths, so they will fall asleep and you can enter or climb on them! Of course each one has its particularity. You usually have to control everyone in the stage, to find the all keys.
And the keys are very well hidden, this stage for example has a secret passage that is impossible to know, if you following straight this wall you will get through to another corner of the stage! But how could I image that? I mean, there is not like the other games that changes the texture xD
Another weird thing is this blue animal there! The hammer's hitbox is all wrong, at the point that you cross the enemy with it and doesn't take damage! Not to mention that you have to use it to destroy some blocks, which again, the hitbox definitely not help!
When you reach the last stages, these keys exploration ends, in addition you get a very DOPE staff to beat these bad memes!
I took some time to kill the final boss, there is no secret, just use the charge attacks from staff and hit the demon on his face! With this our little warrior saves the dream world (?) And get a girlfriend... Nice done, kid!
Just to note, by the VHS cover, this really does not seem to be a Japanese animation...
