Nobody said it would be easy right? There's Capcom Quest from Destiny of an Emperor! More than 17 hours of video and two days to render all walkthrough!
Of course no one watches a walkthrough with more than 17 hours. And that's exactly why I do this mini reviews, and what a difficult game doesn't it? I got stuck several times with the bosses...
The game takes place in the same universe from Dynasty Wars (based on Three Kingdoms novel), even the strange names are there. It's that RPG really oldie, with open world and battles in menus (I thought Capcom would only do that in BoF xD)
I admit that I didn't pay much attention on the plot, but the game is about the manga of Hiroshi Motomiya, which tells the story of Liu Bei and his sword brothers Zhang Fei and Guan Yu in a quest to unify the 14th century China and defeat the bandits. (Wikipedia moment)
Even with the HUGE game's content, it's very simple to explain, your only goal is to defeat the warriors who are in the villages and castles, so you will get access to them and save the place from the bad guys. But do this is not simple a task
Prepare yourself for hours with a lot grinding, not only upgrade your characters, but also increase the army after a duel with any warrior who wants to enter in a clan. Also farming is even more important because you need to buy food, otherwise your party will lose HP over the map.
I believe the first big challenge is in this castle, I passed 4 hours just grinding and recruiting warriors, and even then I didn't defeat the enemies. The only way I found to beat them was by buying the "power pill" item.
One thing that I took some time to discover, was how to use the "tactic" menu during the battle, it's one of the most important things in the game, because it uses magic! You need to find a character who has a high T.P and also possesses "tactic", and then register him as "strat."
There are several hard part this game, but nothing compares to the Final Battle, my GOD what a hellish thing! I was not able to figure out how to defeat them fairly, because they always recover HP when they are dying. It was many save state here.
Anyway game finished, I am not fan from these rpgs, I began to like them at 4th consoles generation. But I admit that Capcom shows to the world, that it wasn't just Square and Enix that knew how to make RPG, right? Congratulations Cap xD
